Blob Zombies 3D printed zombie figures — the Gravedigger, the Girl, and the Crawler

Meet the Blob Zombies: Your Desk’s First Halloween Hires

It is the first week of September, which means the stores are already full of plastic skeletons and we are officially allowed to talk about spooky season. So let’s talk about it. Our first 3D printed Halloween drop of the year has arrived, and it is not scary. It is the opposite of scary. It is three small, roundish undead coworkers known collectively as the Blob Zombies, and they would very much like to live on your desk.

Meet the Horde

The Gravedigger shows up carrying his own tiny shovel, which our research indicates he has never once used. He has a shock of blue hair, big hollow eyes, a torn shirt, and the energy of someone who retired years ago but still comes into the office anyway. Threat level: negligible.

The Zombie Girl has pigtails with little pink bows, a candy bucket she is not sharing, and absolutely no patience for any of this. She does not shamble. She does not groan. She stands exactly where you put her and silently judges your posture. Honestly, we respect it.

The Crawler considered the whole concept of legs and said no thank you. He drags himself along on two determined little arms, brain proudly exposed, presumably headed toward whatever snack you dropped under the desk last week. He is the hardest-working zombie we have ever printed, at a sustained top speed of zero.

Prefer your undead in motion? Here is the whole horde, fresh off the printers:

Why 3D Printed Halloween Decorations Just Hit Different

Zombies have been around far longer than the movies — the legend traces back centuries through Haitian folklore — but they have traditionally been rendered in makeup, latex, and lawn animatronics. We would argue the medium they were actually waiting for is the 3D printer.

Here is why: Halloween is the one holiday built entirely around weird shapes. Lumpy, organic, asymmetrical, slightly wrong shapes. That is exactly the category of geometry that traditional manufacturing hates and a print farm eats for breakfast. No molds, no factory minimums, no committee meeting to decide whether a shovel-carrying blob is commercially viable. A designer has a strange idea — in this case, the folks at Blob Lab — we load up the printers, and a few hours later there is a small horde cooling on the build plates.

3D printed Halloween decorations can also do things store-bought ones cannot, like articulation printed directly into the part. If you have read our post on print-in-place fidget toys, you know the drill: joints that come off the printer already assembled. The Blob Zombies keep things simple and solid, but they are part of the same family tree — small-batch, plastic, and deeply unserious.

There is also the seasonal math. Big manufacturers have to guess a year in advance how many skeletons America wants. A print farm does not guess. When the horde sells out, we print more horde. When Halloween ends, the printers simply move on without a single warehouse full of regret.

For the materials-curious: the horde is printed in PLA, the same plant-based plastic we covered in our What Is PLA explainer — sturdy, light, and available in exactly the shade of reanimated green this project demanded. Each zombie prints as one chunky, solid little unit, which means they survive desk avalanches, backpack rides, and enthusiastic younger siblings. The undead are famously durable, and in this case it is actually true.

Adopting Your Own

Each Blob Zombie is $6.99, or $17.99 adopts the full horde of three — which we recommend, because separating them feels legally questionable and they clearly operate as a unit. They are small, sturdy, and require no feeding, watering, or cardio.

You can meet them properly over on the Blob Zombies product page. October is coming. Your desk deserves a head start.
